Sometimes I despair of my own generation. It feels like we have lost the ability to put words together in a witty way, to draw materials and insights from old literary sources and to form a contemporary sense of humour. Sometimes I wonder if I am completely and utterly insane, fighting the windmills of social media to restore a love of sentence structure, grammar and subtext that is hopelessly lost in acronyms and incomplete one-liners. But then, sometimes, I come across poets of the calibre of Sometimes I despair of my own generation. Sometimes I wonder if I am completely and utterly insane, fighting the windmills of social media to restore a love of sentence structure, grammar and subtext that is hopelessly lost in acronyms and incomplete one-liners. But then, sometimes, I come across poets of the calibre of Malte Persson. Oh, obviously, obviously he is tilting towards the windmills as well, bravely writing a poetry collection dedicated to poetry itself, Till dikten, braver still, writing a short story with all the oldfashioned finesse, caricaturing our contemporary world of superficial storylines moving between different media. The Stockholm types are all of a sudden the Sad Prince, the Dwarf, Snow White - and they make sense, both in their regular shapes and in their fairytale incarnations. The elemental force of storytelling is not lost. One just has to discover it underneath the surface. Tilting!

Didn't really enjoy this one. I thought that it sounded good, but I just didn't get it and it was boring.

I wish that this was something for me but sadly it wasn’t. Perhaps I’ll read it again in the future and see if I think differently then I wish that this was something for me but sadly it wasn’t. Perhaps I’ll read it again in the future and see if I think differently then ❤️
